Neil E. Cox

Neil E. Cox

Neil E. Cox was named executive vice president of product and IT in August 2008 and is responsible for the product development and management of Qwest’s entire portfolio of voice, data and IP services. He also oversees the critical information technology infrastructure used to deliver services.

A seasoned executive with more than 35 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries, Mr. Cox joined Qwest in 2006 as the vice president of central region enterprise sales for Qwest’s Business Markets Group (BMG). Prior to joining Qwest, he was a venture partner at MK Capital, which invests in emerging technologies and applications software. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Cox served as executive vice president of the telecommunications sector at SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) – a Fortune 500 science, engineering and technology applications company.

Mr. Cox began his career at Indiana Bell in 1972 and later moved to Ameritech Corporation where he held a number of executive positions including president of both Ameritech Information Industry Services and SecurityLink from Ameritech. While at Ameritech, Mr. Cox was one of the inventors responsible for three patents that were designed around the notification of a data message on the Internet.

Mr. Cox holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University.
